Hi everyone,

I passed MOD2 earlier this year and I've been on the look out for a bike since well before that!! but I have always, as long as I had known they exist, been desperate for an older CB250 K series. and I've found one!
It's perfect, non original but sound condition, no interest to collectors, but ideal for getting used without fear of losing originality. And potentially affordable.
So I am desperate to get it. Any thoughts of getting a 'utility' bike like an XJ or GS have long since gone out of the window and I just need to get this little Honda, put it back on the road and use it as a daily ride, go touring around the UK on it, then europe Laughing of course, taking good care of it all the way.

I kinda like the idea of aiming to own and ride a bike regularly and still be using it when it turns 100 (if I'm lucky enough to still be around then!) but with a '72 honda I'd be in with a shot! I'd love to still be able to kickstart and ride a bike when im nearly 80.

But.

It's in Wales. Not road legal and not quite ready to be ridden yet so I need to look in to transporting it back to Birmingham before I make the seller a serious offer. I don't want to waste their time or get my hopes up. I'll try shiply as well, but I was wondering if anyone on here had ny sort of vehicle that they might be able to use to help me collect the bike? And if so, would they be able to help me please?

The bike is on the coast, near Aberystwyth, quite a reasonable distance! would probably fit into a van, maybe an estate if we took the front wheel off with two people to lift it in?

If anyone on here would be able to help me, could they please get in touch? Of course, they would be paid, in money, lunch and tea or coffee when we get it back to Brum Very Happy so if you could let me know how much you'd want for it that'd be great.

Depending on where you are based I could get a bus/train to meet you, or if you're near Birmingham I can walk and meet you somewhere in town? or I could even get a train out to Aberystwyth and you could meet me there?

I'm more than happy to wait for a convenient time for you, weekends are fine, wednesdays thursdays and fridays are also fine, any time of day or night, just let me know!

Thanks everyone, apologies for the rambling and overexcited post!

I had this too. Needed this project bike and many people recommended shiply.

Used it in the end and worked out £30 cheaper than renting out a van + fuel.

There is a guy called Alan on there that many of us have used and we recommend him. Someone will probably come and confirm the name for me but I think it is southcoastdeliveries or something like that.

HTH Thumbs Up

I'm not sure I'd trust Shiply. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3131266

Well that is one horror story in how many?

The couriers wouldn't offer you a bid if they couldn't do your dates. I think you can speak to them before you make the bid anyway.

And Alan had a private email.

And they all have feedback rating so if you aren't comfortable, go for one with a higher feedback rating.

Many of us have used it so I wouldn't be too worried.

Hmm, that is interesting - I didn't know that they hit you with hidden fees. That looks fraudulent, they're unlikely to get away with it indefinitely. I guess check out uship and anyvan then.
