Cashing cheques...

For reasons id rather not go into , i have to cash a personal cheque at a moneyshop / cash converters type place , but I have a strong suspicion its a rubber cheque ..... whats the likely outcome if it does bounce once they've cashed it ? does the liability lay with me , or with the writer of the cheque ?

All advice appreciated.

Bring in cheques made out to you, we’ll cash them instantly.
What to do: bring in your cheques to Herbert Brown and the following proof of ID for instant cash:

Utility bill from last 12 weeks
Signature ID (passport, driving license, debit card)
Ideal: When you want to cash cheques without waiting days for the bank to process them

Given that they will have your details I would guess that they would chase you for the money back.

Cash converters even require your photo on their system

Could even be on a personal cheque that they contact the bank and check to see if legit and funds avaiable.

In my experience some of the places won't cash personal cheques.

Probably won't cash a personal cheques (or rape you for fees).

Any particular reason why you can't pay it into your bank account? You can draw from day 4. (Thursday from Monday)
