hi all, iv got a day off next week and fancy finding some ace roads i drove down ages ago in the work van but cannot remember where it was all i know is it was in the peak district in derbyshire.

the roads were very close to some big drops and went very high with huge lakes at the bottom.

iv searched google and the net but cannot find the place i went i just though maybe someone has a clue to where i mean,iv no idea off the name other than it was a funny and perculiar name.

so any body go an idea.

Snake pass or Cat and Fiddle are the classics in that area.

A57 and A537.

if by "huge lakes" you mean reservoirs, then it could have been somewhere around ladybower/snake pass.

peak district is the shit anyway, you'll find great roads all over Thumbs Up

Along with more unecessary 40 and 50 limits than you can shake a stick at, a rediculous number of solid white lines in totally unecessary places and police spotter planes watching to see if you cross any.

Derbyshire is one of the most frustrating places I've ever ridden a motorbike because there are brilliant roads and stupid speed limits which have been up for so long that the locals have actually started to believe the hype and obey them.

Even on the Enfield I was frustrated as hell riding around at 40 or 50mph when I could have been doing 55 or 60. It would even be frustrating on a CG125.

As a matter of fact, If I want to get from Cumbria to Derby, I'll go over the A66 and down the A1 then M1 because it's quicker and less frustrating than going down the M6 and cutting across the peak district.
