Quote:
Jeremy Clarkson should be sacked by the BBC over his "appalling" comments about killing striking public sector workers, trade union Unison has said.

The union said it was considering reporting the Top Gear presenter to the police over comments on The One Show.

Referring to striking workers, Mr Clarkson said: "I'd have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families."

The BBC received over 4,700 complaints and has apologised for the comments.

whats all the bloody fuss about its obvious he was joking
same when he said trains get delayed by suicide attempts
anyone who watches him knows never to take him seriously
he even says that about himself

I've seen it on youtube he is obviously just fucking about, you can't say anything these days.

When radio one said it they announced it like he had killed 100,000 kittens, completely out of context.

Load of shit people should just take it on the chin and stop moaning IMO !

Thumbs Up

New series of Top Gear's out in the new year IIRC.

All I'm saying is he seems to do this about a month before the start of every new series. Wink

A lot of people feel the strikers are taking the piss, and it's good that Clarkson has voiced a similar opinion. Of course its really quite funny to see a woman who whines endlessly about her rights be so very quick to try and deny Clarkson his rights!

I love just how out of context they are.

I believe he was introduced as someone who is famous for making outrageous and controvertial comments, then came out with that.

I wonder what the view of the trades union membership is of their hierarchy wasting THEIR money taking pointless legal action over this.

I made a thread about 9 months ago about this guy and his Mexico comments... I watched the 1 show last night and had to laugh...

The train comment was so funny and true....

Go on, "complain to the police", you miserable little commie worms, see how far you get.

What Clarkson said, plus I'd bill their families for the bullet. Take it out of their benefits or tax credits.

He said in a hearted tone. Not really, decrease the surplus population by all means.

Ironically he was actually taking the mick out of the fact that the BBC have to have balanced comment. He had said he loved the strike as it was easy to get into London and all the restaurants were empty. So, by way of balance he said all public sector workers should be shot for complaining about their gold plated pensions...

Union fail. Sense of humour fail. Plus I don't think the BBC can sack him as he doesn't work for the BBC, they employ his production company (that he co founded with Andy Willman) to produce Top Gear. If they sack him he'll take Top Gear to another channel.

Hopefully to C4 since they don't seem to care much what shows do so long as they get the ratings Twisted Evil

Thats the trouble with TV these days though, nothing decent because you daren't do anything in case it offends some miserable git who doesn't have the slightest sense of humour!

I caught a bit of five live this afternoon and they were discussing an idea of making an 'anti complaints' hotline. This way people could, up in arms, ring the usual complaints line saying how the statement of an individual had upset them and then they woke up in the morning and their legs had fallen off through shock. Then normal balanced individuals could ring up to say they werent offended. They could then see the balance.

Why are Anon-E-Mouse of Berkshire, aged 79 always getting first dibs on being offended? Do people actualy enjoy being 'offended'?

Would have thought that if the show got 6 million viewers and 5 thousand complained. Then that 5 ,995,000 that were not offended and liked the comment.....

Therefor the 5K can be advised in future, to use the OFF button.. Twisted Evil

Why is it in cases like this they have to pander to the few who complain. Instead of telling them that as more were not complaining that nothing is going to be done.

There was some 600+ comments on BBC FB page; half and half for/against but I did comment summarising what you put.

What annoys me is that stupid Unison cow.

People will complain at anything if given the chance, its what people do, other people follow suit just to fit in....

Off Topic but here goes.
Seen some program a while back forgot what it was about but I remember there was some person who complained about a babestation, or Television X channel (well one of them channels), cus either some lasses G string slipped, or her tits got shown by accident, Either way, your watching what is basically a porn channel, and she's pretty much naked, and you complained because or a minor slip ?

2+2=3? hmmm O.o Nope that definitely doesn't add up.

Like I said, People will complain about anything if they get the chance, they probably think they are going to get compensation for them watching a TV program where they feel slightly offended.
Get a grip, if you don't like it, its easy to change channel, its not like the 80's where you actually have to get off your arse to change the channel.

I'd recommend they execute them by plastic bag suffocation (in a Khmer Rouge style). Save the bullets for the revolution etc.

Have to pay for a lot of plastic bags these days too Rolling Eyes.

And of course the Asda and Tesco free ones wouldn't be strong enough to suffocate a Hamster, never mind something outrageous like hold a 2ltr bottle of pop!
