Best recovery must be Wil Wheaton. Stand By Me, Next Gen, alt.wesley.crusher.die.die.die, then years in the wilderness scraping by on conventions and books for fanbois. Marries a milf, adopts two kids and raises them to manly-manhood, then suddenly he's riding the crest of the intartubes blogosphere bubble, becomes a Twitter God and the universal solvent of online nerdom, lands roles in The Guild, segues into Big Bang Theory, Eureka and Leverage, and now, well, it's all looking pretty as a portrait.
