I've had a very voyeuristic day today - watching sex take place just a few feet away from me.

I'm thankful to the EA and their faggots, because they appear to be encouraging the dirty sods to have it off in full view, seemingly without a care in the world.

I've spotted about a half dozen at it today, and if they're there over the weekend I'm tempted to whip my rod out and try a bit myself.

I'm not certain about the morality of this though - whilst there's some real big 'uns there, I really think I should leave them be (as opposed to taking them and beating them over the head until they're dead, which is what my normal inclination is).

Your thoughts, please.

What's strange is that the usual size I see there is up to around a half pound - tiddlers really.
Suddenly, a load have turned up that look to be in the region of 3lb+. I have no idea where they've been hiding, because I never see anything of that size there normally.

Ooooh, it's a dilema. I'm thinking that if I only take males (and return any females), my morals will be content (as will my belly).

Confused

If you are partial to piscatorial adventures, why not spread your tackle, whip out your rod and see if anything fishy comes along. I used to do just that on a Sunday morning until my intentions were missunderstood by fellow canal users and the locals set fire to my house...

Just eat them lol. Don't over complicate matters with what sex they are. Big uns normally are more shy, after all if they weren't shy someone would have already eaten them.

I've just had a check and it's close season for brownies on rivers.

Sad

So, I think I'll head to one of my local stillwaters for a bash at some Rainbows instead.

Caught my biggest brownie ever, while spinning for salmon on the River Annan, brownie season had ended, Crying or Very sad
Must have been knocking on the door of 5lb.
Got to say it didn't put up much of a fight, considering it's size, guess the water was too cold in December.

Every man should learn the art of Guddling.
You very gently tickle them on the underside.
Then when you think they feel good and ready you just whip them out.
And you get a great feeling when you do it properly.

Went out today to a local lake, bagged a pair of nice Rainbows - gave one to the old dear over the road as a 'thank you' for the cake she baked for my boy's birthday, the other is in the freezer.

The only let down was the wind was a bit gusty at times, this resulted in a) hooking myself in the face on a backcast and b) thwacking myself on the back of the head with a conehead on a forward cast.

What did amaze me was how low the water levels were (a good 2 - 3 feet lower than usual), I keep hearing talk of drought on the radio, but this really brought it home. I think this photo of the nearby Wilstone reservoir shows it well:

https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KFR55P0Ps1k/TqPkU3MuyKI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/u6-TFGEM6UU/s1600/wilstone-reservoir-low-water_0038.jpg

In a normal year, the whole area in the foreground would be submerged.

Shocked
