I forgot I was on reserve, well never really thought about it as I have a lot going on at work and stuff so figured I had enough until the next day but really wasn't thinking proper.
Anyway, coming home from work, at the lights, and the bike takes a dive in rpm (it's raining) and I'm like "omg, water in the leccys", still not thinking fuel, like a doofus )
Anyways, I rev it and it kinda keeps the engine running and I have to rev like mad just to pull away. Luckily, there is a garage just through the lights, across the road.
I finally remember I am real low but you know what? I get through the lights, wait for a gap to cross the road and get to the pump and the engine dies right as I get to where I want to be.
My bike is an Angel.
Heh, just sayin ____________________ My Lane Position is always AWESOME!! |

Reminds me of when I went up to Whitby on my CG.
The fuel tap for a while wouldn't work, so it was left on reserve permanently.
I had forgotten to check fuel/look at my clocks when I set off, so winged it. "I'll pull in at the next garage" I told myself.
Bike started spluttering in Bridlington. I pulled the clutch in, coasted down a hill, then let the clutch out and it bumped into life again. Got enough life out of it to pull me into the petrol station at the bottom of the hill and it died right at the pump.
Good times! |

Hehe, I did this recently whilst practicing for my test. I knew I had'nt checked the tank for a couple of weeks (having no gauge on the H100) so wasnt really surprised for it to konk out and decided the best course of action was to coast along the road as long as I could- must have rolled for a mile before I stopped and asked a yokal where the nearest petrol station was? Three miles back from where I came he replied Worse was when I pushed the bike to the petrol station I remembered I still had Reserve ____________________ Rides: Honda H100a (Retired), VT500e (Sold), Kawasaki ZX400 (sold), Kawasaki GT550 (Sold), Suzuki Inazuma (Daily), Honda CD185t (Broken), LML Star 2t (Last run edition). |
