Coming into an S bend at about 30mph, wasn't too tight, went around the first one and then as I was taking the second, a bit of crap blew out of the hedge and landed n the road less than a meter in front of me! (crap being some rusty bit of metal mesh, no idea really) didn't have anytime to swerve, my bike went right over it (while turning) and completely lost all traction.
the bike lowsided onto my right knee and slid into the pavement on it's side with me not far behind. I think I must have blacked out or something for a second or two, but when I opened my eyes, everything was blurry and I ripped my helmet off (felt all closed in and sick for some reason) and looked down, my knee was sort f dented inwards and was filled with mud and gravel and hurt like hell, my hips felt really weird and I felt like I was going to be sick.
Some guy came over who saw the whole thing and called an ambulance, I wasn't really with it though and told him I didn't need one and I needed to check my bike haha
ambo arrived, went to hospital, cleaned up my knee, stitches, hip is aight, just need to rest and take a week off work.
As for the bike, local copper tried to charge me 460 punds for recovery but I got mny friend to pick it up in his van and take it to a garage I live next to fr the time being.
I hobbled in the next day to be told that I needed new forks, new front fender, front fairing, brake leavers, headlights, mirrors, indicators, all (if bought from Honda direct ) would cost me a f*cking grand...including labour which according t them would take 3 hours...A GRAND?
I bought it for that. ): I have no idea what to do, I have no transport, no bike, not much money, feels awful. Maybe I should just scrap it and take my test. ____________________ Honda CBR 125R 2008 |

Ouch, sorry to hear that. It's just bad luck, there's nothing you could have done there. Glad to hear that you at least hopped away, and for thinking about the bike first.
Start hitting eBay for those parts, you'll get them for a lot less. Worst case, forget the fairing and "streetfighter" it. Also, check the forks yourself, they may just need straightening in the yokes. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Sorry to hear that mate. Hope you're well soon enough!
Y'know, exactly the same thing happened to me on my mates CBR Must be a CBR thing
You will be able to pick up the parts of a lot cheaper than that - check eBay and that, there are even websites that sell second hand parts for bikes - i'll try and track it down for you. I doubt it'll come to a grand if you do it this way and repair it yourself.
Get better soon mate.
EDIT - Not too sure if it'll apply to you, but you can loosen and retighten from the yoke at the top I believe, and as long as your forks aren't too seriously twisted then they should pop right back. Again, thats how we repaired my mates bike and now its as good as new... don't quote me on this though, maybe someone else can elaborate a little? ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |
