Basically I live in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill, a few kids have recently discovered that its great fun to sit on skateboards and roll down the bank. Unfortunately a neighbour of mine has decided it would be a great idea to pour gravel all over the road to stop them from starting to roll down the bank outside his house, it is literally everywhere and right around a blind corner. I'm going to go up to his house and tell him how wrong he was to do that but just incase that doesn't make him shift it is there anything else I can threaten him with, such as the police?

Not sure if there is any legal standing, but all I can say is that he seems like an inconsiderate arse. Thumbs Down

Very Happy

I just found this using google https://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts1991/Ukpga_19910040_en_2.htm#mdiv6

I'm going to print a copy of this off and take it to his house, then I will suggest he cleans it up and if it isn't done within half an hour then I will be getting the police involved as he has willingly caused a danger to motorists on the road. Thumbs Up

Might be worth getting a cheap old bike and dropping it right outside his house Wink Easy money!

Has it stopped the kids though? Because if it has then I think its a well thought out, worthy plan the old man has came up with. I've nearly flattened them kids many a time.

No Mike it hasn't stopped the kids, it obviously isn't a well thought out plan since he has a committed a road traffic offense for making the part of road outside of his house dangerous to traffic. Say you had come my house tonight, the gravel is all over the road just around the blind corner, you could of easily come off your bike and to be fair you've nearly flattened them so many times because of the way you drive.

This is what the world is coming to, Its a disgrace, why not let the kids skate? The old git needs a smack in the teeth with a skateboard. Just because the kids are having fun and he can't because hes an old git that smells of wee. A skateboard according to American officials Is now classed as a weapon of mass destruction and apparantly The Spearhead of todays terrorism. Go figure. Rolling Eyes

Silly man, just take a shortcut through his garden and then when he says "Oi!!" just say "sorry mate but I can't use the road, some idiots spilt gravel on it".

When you have kids lying on a skateboard going down the centre of the road they are well below the height of a bonnet of a car, and when reversing you cant see them eith because they are lower than the rear wind screen.

I can't believe their parents let them do it in the road and at night when its dark of all times.

I can't believe your parents let you out when its dark. You turn into a proper boy racer at night. Confused
You come down the street like your in the Network Q rally, they probably sit in the road because you take the corner at the top and look like your going to go through the hedge. Laughing
Anyway how come you virtually crawl down the street on your bike but drive like Colin Mcrae in the car. Question Confused
Perhaps you'd be safer on the skateboards. Laughing

My printer had ran out of ink. Crying or Very sad

I went down to see the local council guy and told him of the problem so he is now being reported to the council and I have heard that a couple of other people will also be reporting him. I was going to go down to the police station for fun but laziness got the better of me, its still dodgy and I am still tempted to go and knock on but again with the laziness.
