Was just wondering if a leaky shock is an MOT failure as fork seals leaking are apparently.

If so, would it be beneficial to buy a second hand shock for ~£40 off eBay now as money is tight or just wait until I can afford it to get the Hagon currently on there rebuilt?

It costs pretty much £100 for a rebuild but then it comes with a 2 year guarantee.

A leaking shock is a cert for an MOT failure, if you're truly 'brassic' the £40 non-leaking (?) one would be the way to go but if you've got the time and the dosh the £100 rebuild (with a warranty ?) would probably be the better long-term option.

my gpz500 had a slightly leaking shock and it got an advisory for slight misting. But you say its leaking bad so im guessing its a fail.
Id get it rebuilt if at all possible. buying another will be wasted money if you're not planning on keeping it.
