It doesn't actually make too much difference...

The problem with unleaded comes from soft valve seats in four stroke engines, the lead was needed to lubricate them or something. The TZR125 has no valves and therefore no valve seats. So you can use LRP or unleaded, I would say stick with unleaded.

The thing that is important to remember is that the bike (being a 2 stroke) needs to be topped up with a good quality 2 stroke oil quite often.

I think the TZR125 has an oil tank which feeds an injector that adds the 2 stroke oil in the right ratio. Just keep the tank topped up with fully synthetic and you're laughing! Smile

As for the choke, AFAIK it is on the left hand side of the bike down in the gap between the frame and the fairing about quarter of the way down.

I might be wrong on that one though.

HTH Smile

I've ridden a K-reg TZR125 and the choke was on the handlebar, next to the grip AFAIR. Confused Not sure if yours is different though...

Hi

The TZR does have a 2 stroke pump. To be honest it does not really need fully synthetic 2 squeak oil as when standard they are reliable and long lived.

It does run on normal unleaded. It does not need the lead, and most Japanese bikes will happily run on fairly low octane fuel.

All the best

Keith

Thankyou very helpful, just what I needed to know Smile

Now i need to know where the choke is. Cant find a manual for it on the net either and nobody near has got one.

I'm sure its on the left hand side of the bike, between the frame and fairing. Thats where it was on Dusty's TZR!

I'm not making this up! Wink

His was a TZR125R, not the older TZR125 which I reckon this is on a F plate. The older bike was significantly different.
