Could I use an XJ900 or 600 jack-up kit for my Yamaha XJ400 diversion??

Does anyone have any ideas?

I would hazard a guess that the XJ600 kit will fit. The 400 and 600 share them same frame and suspension, so no reason they wont fit.

as an aside - why an XJ400? My old 600 was only just quicker then a mobility scooter...
