Soheres the story, after months of wanting to get a proper bike instead of riding a 125 scooter I decided to start preparing for my test. I've done bike lessons as I don't have ageared bike. I did my theory 2 months at go. My scooter now out of action and I've got sick of waiting so I've booked the mod 1. Its on the 11th, and rain has been given -_- my luck and to borrow instructors bike cost 80 quid each test. Its a dirt bike, don't know the name as I havnt played much attention to it, just rode it. Basically has anyone done the mod in rain? Main worry is the stop and the swerve. The dirt bike is.a hell of alot more grippy than the scooter I rode but im just worried about going sliding. Any one else had the problem? Swerve seems pointless to me, if your first reaction is to swerve you could end up in the way of an oncoming car.

Dude they can barely predict the weather for tomorrow, never mind 9 days time.

Not sure if all the surfaces are the same for Mod1 (I'd assume so) but the one at Peterborough was super grippy, rain or not. It's a tiny little flick of the bike, I really doubt you would slide at all.

I did my Mod 1 on a wet test bed. The tarmac is the best you will ever ride on and unless it's standing water the test will go ahead. You will not have a problem with the surface, just watch the e-stop that you don't use any back brake as it will lock easier - don't worry about the stopping distance per se - the examiner is looking for a controlled stop as quickly as possible without any wheel lock-ups.
The swerve is literally a flick and back. On a 500cc, use 2nd gear for the turn at 20mph and once aimed, gun it for the speed trap. Throttle off as you go through it, do the flick and stop easily in the box.

I think you better off not just worrying about it and take it as it comes. I went for my Mod1 the week before Xmas and it was a bad surface due to frost and ice so was cancelled. Re-booked it for next Sunday and I would rather have the damp/rain than any chance of frost/ice.
Im more concerned about the Mod2 as that is hopefully a good sensible bike ride, but you can't allow for the other idiots on the road, so is much more of a lottery I think.
