A very fast bike for a 250. Much cheaper than it's 400cc relatives and will be faster than any similar class road bike, and give a damn good go against other dedicated race bikes.
When we went to Cadwell last, we did Elvington the week before, I took the KR down the strip 3 times and managed a best Standing Quarter time of 12.83 .. that's quicker than all the 400cc bikes that day!
On track the bike handles, goes and stops very nicely for a 250.
I'm selling because I've just got a R6 track bike that I'm hoping to do a few races in the bemsee rookie 600s with this year.
Note that this is a dedicated track bike, while you might be able to convert it back for road use, there's little point when it's had everything set up and coverted for the track.
This would be an excellent first time track bike to learn some track skills on and not cost a fortune or good for those that can't afford to run a dedicated 600cc+ track bike but still want to keep on the track .
(Or of course those that aren't obssesed with high powered bikes as I seem to be .)
Specs:
Stan Stephens tuned (claimed 70hp I believe), only done a few track days since this.
Total Loss ignition System
Spare wheels and discs (I have wets, but they are old, so might be best to replace)
New tyres (one track day use only)
New Brake pads (one track day use only)
New Clutch Plates / Springs (one track day use only)
WP Rear Suspension Unit (I think)
Reworked fork internals
Braided hoses
Converted to pre-mix
Numerous weight saving bits
Spares include:
Shock
Fairing: nose, body and tail units
Full Factory Service Manual on CD
Removable side 'Padock' stand
Front and Rear Padock stands
Clip ons
Pistons
Spark plugs

Some will remember that I did have some problems at Cadwell with Oil dripping on the rear tyre! (though I still managed lap times that would have at least put me at the back of the pack of rookie 400s against rs250s etc .)
I eventually found this to be the cover which the sump bolt bolts into, this has been replaced with a brand new official Kawasaki item. Any oil that did get on has burnt/been warn off now.
There is a slight leak from the fork seals.
I have new seals, but haven't had the chance to fit them, I intend to fit them at some point, but if I get an offer on the bike before I fit them then I'll take it above any that are waiting for me to fit them... plenty of other bikes to take my time up with .
I am located in Reading, any viewings welcome, email me at kr1s@giffould.com to discuss further. I will deliver locally (within 20 miles) for free, or will negotiate a reasonable fee to deliver further afield if required.
Looking for £800 including all the spares listed and some that I haven't mentioned. |
