Hi all bit of a silly one
I have had my b4 for about 8 weeks and i know the weather has been cold but my radiator fan has not come on yet and it dose not have a temp guage.

Is this normal?

could i leave it idling in the garage and see if it comes on or should i not do this and get a life and stop worrying about nothing.

the rad is full of coolant it there is nothing for me to suggest that the bike is overheating just not had the fan kick in yet Neutral

its fine, mine has only ever come on in the summer while sat in traffic. i will dig out the testing spec from the manual if your that worried about it.

honestly, worry about it when that fan hasnt come on and the temp light on the dash has

lol yeh, but it may be worth a check when it comes to a coolant flush.

the fan its self is easy to check any way. testing it thermostat is the hard part (if you can call it hard)

if yours is the same as mine it should have 2 electrical thermostats and 1 mechanical. why they use so many i will never know

unplug the fan and attatch the wire to the battery, i dunno what shorting the thermostat might do to it.

i try and keep a coupld lonish length of wire in my tool box along with a box of connector and my crimps. i friend of mine refers to that as making some fly leads. i have used the small jump leads (the one that meant for motorbikes with the smaller clamp on them) in the past too

i would have 1 from the fan to ground, and on to +ve on the battery. you would have to discounect both fan wires.

and no dont leave it on all the time no matter what way you test it, there is no point, and you said, with will be a bitch to warm
