Another bike that has 'appeared' on the horizon is the baby Katana. '91 variant and all original with 10k miles on the clock.

Do any of you have any experience of these machines, I always liked the original Katanas of the 80's, but they are beyond my price range - this one's coming in at 1.5k.

Pretty rare bikes in the UK I think, so it's hard to gauge value..

Any thoughts would be appreciated..

That's disappointing to hear. I've been looking at getting a smaller potential 'classic' to polish and waste money on...but the standard collector type bikes are so darned expensive.

I've looked at xt250
400four

and other similar things - this one just looked pretty 'interesting'.

Welcome to the club!
I`ve been looking for a "classic/Project" 250/400? for ages.

I`ve been looking for a two-smoke twin Shocked and they are just ridiculous prices for what they are Sad .

I have a nasty old XS 400 sitting in my garage and it looks like that will get the restoration it needs instead of something i really want.

I cant get my head round why bikes with less cc`s and less power are going for prices higher than bigger more powerful bikes like GPZ 500 Twins`s & GT550`s??
Where`s the logic in that?

It's a club with a large membership judging by how much and how quick these old bikes are getting snapped up.

Maybe an import isn't a great idea, because the one's that are achieving great values, were the 'dream' or first bikes of the 'grey heads' that are in their mid 30's to mid 40's?

With that in mind, the 'ordinary' bikes from the 90's could be the ones to do?

As to the small CC stuff, I reckon that ,as above, we always dreamed of owning the 125 Gammas, DT's, RD's. The big bikes were always out of reach and looked like 'old, big blokes' gear. Just a thought.
