Just got me this bargain off E-gay.
£105 inc. postage, and in the paint job I want too.
Small crack, but nothing a couple of friends cant solve easily, or there's plenty of replacement panels floating around cheap.
Should look good on the SV once I get a sub-frame. (bit by bit - the whole thing is more expensive than buying the individual parts)

What y'all think?

Mike

*EDIT* includes rear lights and indicators too Thumbs Up

the back is at the top

Well it has a small crack, the actual price is £95 without postage.
And the same unit, same colour, just without the small crack, is £200 without postage.
It's also in the colour I want it, so it's even more convenient for me- dont have to pay for painting.
having looked at the prices i'd say its a complete bargain.
This is the back end I wanted originally, but they were silly money when I looked back in summer.

Not quite, its only the RH panel, and the rest of the panels, & the lights and indicators.
Wouldnt say its a rip off given the prices of 'em normally

Well it could have been an 06/07/08 Wink.

Yeah its gorgeous, and its a '99 model. I thought the curviness of the back end would go with the curviness of the tank; seeing as that would be the only SV bodywork on it by the time it's done Thumbs Up
Just need to glass fibre the crack up, and perhaps get a new panel if it really doesn't work.
Either way, still cheaper than the normal panel work Mr. Green

Oh right. Scrap that, I never liked the look of the curvy sv's. Even when they are naked, I'm still not feeling the frame although they look better without fairing.

Pictures of before and after Thumbs Up

The rear cowl new from honda for a 600rr is ~£240, so not a bad price if the OP can get it mended to a good standard.

Don't be silly....

1997–2009 47 hp (34.3 kW) @ 9200 rpm. - GS500
64.2 hp (47.9 kW) @ 9000 rpm - SV650s

I also have more torque.
(and the streetfighter won't be on the road until my restriction has ended: september)
I know we're not talking lots of power... but still. I have more...
The SV's general rivals are the FZR600, Hornet 600, and mainly the ER-6N

A decent RS125 with a bit of attention will probably give a GS a run Wink

Think you should buy this month's bike magazine and have a read Thumbs Up
Yes the SV is the 'slower' of the 4. But it was given a good run and a good reference.
I never compared the power. The SV, bandit, hornet, fzs6, er-6n are all generally compared and reviewed together & I am merely repeating this here. Ofc the SV cannot make the same power as the rest because its a twin and only a 650, the stroke and bore are more for the creation of torque. But you took my comparison as a speed thing.
Clearly ego's are getting a bit too big for my liking. I like my bike, I'm proud of my bike, it makes me happy, end of conversation.
Don't like it? Well its not your bike, jog on.
au reviour Thumbs Up

Well without your restriction yes, but for now I can be smug about my shit heap of a bike Mr. Green

By the time you're off restriction I'll probably have a Yamaha Ninja 1800 R1 turbo busa. Probably.
