Just curious.. I've been riding/commuting as normal and been getting on fine. Had some iffy moments last week when we had the winds (almost got blown into an oncoming lorry Mad ), and almost coming off due to black ice when parking up. Apart from that, its been fine.

Handlebar muffs are a lifesaver, first year I have used them and not once have I had the painful red hand scenario. Also with the 600 Im getting some funny wheelspins and shocked motorists watching Laughing .

My first winter season on a bike, and its all fine. Just keeping my distance from cars in front, filtering lots, overtaking when safe. Only 1 front wheel wobble so far, going round a roundabout. Cant believe some people put there bike away for winter!

Going great, I have this little plipper which allows me to start the heater on my car so when I get in it the air is nice and warm and the windscreen is defrosted.

My bike is in the garage somewhere, although it needs a new rear tyre and the fact its absolutely chuffing freezing is not the reason I'm taking the car at the minute. Honest Embarassed

I passed my CBT in February so although I have been out in some chilly weather, this is my first winter. It's going okay so far. Only had once icy day and the hardest part was getting the bike down the driveway backwards with my feet slipping around. Once I got to the end of my street onto the main road, I had no problems with ice.

I have winter gloves which were fine on my 125cc but on my CBR600F I need a bit more dexterity for the throttle, so I am still wearing my summer gloves. Only had a problem in the morning when it is bloody freezing. The winter gloves aren't even that much warmer than the thin ones. I might look into getting bar muffs, since I see a lot of praise for them on here.

Doing alright. Still using the country pass between Bolton and Blackburn (A666) Which becomes a black ice nightmare over winter and sometimes gets shut because of the snow. But luckily its been ok so far.

If it does look like its going to be Icey, i use the M65, M61 and through Horwich on my way back to Bolton.

Keep plodding on untill it snows and then bike goes in the garage and stays warm.

It's just a little colder and I ride a little slower. Heated grips a for the win. Did have a little moment in Chester, woke me up a bit. Very Happy

Not so great. One off on black ice so far, then snow, but at least Hurricane Bawbag cleared that up. Very Happy Just looked out the window and the rain is white and fluffy again. Mad

I'm seriously considering putting insurance (and the crash bars) back on the 125 if for no other reason than it's easier to pick up.

Only beeen riding since June, and only riding a lot for around 3 weeks. So far, it's just rained a little down here in the south. Maybe a little colder than it was, but overall nothing has changed.

It's going to get colder later this week, but heated grips should mean that there's no issues with commuting. If/when we get snow and ice, I'll just work from home.

Mine are away, one's in bits being rebuilt. The dealer want to fit my new exhaust for my new one but dont fancy taking a brand new spanker with shiny fairings down some of the smallest shittiest bastard lanes/roads in east sussex to get the exhaust on, so i might pick it up and do it myself, or wait for a bit. Dont think i'll drop it but i know i'll be pissed off with myself if i do.

It's not bad out though, my misses has a 125 so i've popped out on that. I am getting quite 'itchy' for a proper ride though, can not wait until i've rebuilt the RR and the weather is a little nicer. Really just awaiting those crisp, dry winters mornings.

Riding since feb. All is well. Had my first encounter where a woman did me up the arse as i was waiting at a round-a-bout, but she's paid and got it back yesterday!! Thumbs Up

But no ice encounters yet it's just too bloody cold. For Christmas i've asked for some heated gloves that are around £100 so i hope they help for years to come Thumbs Up

How was that? I've heard it's meant to be quite pleasurable, but never had the courage to ask. Wink Wink Smile

Overall it’s been an amazingly benign winter so far. Almost completely dry with temperatures staying well above average. The cooler days are much easier to deal with when it’s dry.

I started a new job in September and used the bike every day since. In that time I’ve only needed to get out the serious waterproofs two or three times. There have been a few chilly days, but the muffs are doing their job and I’ve got decent gear for the first winter in about ten years.

My road was icy the other morning, but the main roads were fine once I got past that. They are blathering on about high winds, rain and snow for later in the week so it could all take a turn for the worse. You'll know that winter has hit properly when the Spill Counter grows by two pages in a few days.

Been fine. Roads are a little greasy around here, and it's windy as hell, but that's the worst of it.

No winter here yet Laughing

https://i1089.photobucket.com/albums/i341/JoeDougieDouglas/IMAG0287.jpg

Nah, its okay, had a few minor slip-ups commuting over the past few days - its been raining a lot and there is a roundabout with a lot of manhole covers on, can't really avoid them...

Other than that its fine. The bike needs a clean but I doubt i'll give it any more than a hose down until winter finishes. Thumbs UpSmile

Been biking the odd day here and there and taking the (bawache) of a train the rest of the time.

Weathers been too slushy and snowy to be safe for riding though! All ive managed to do is spin up my back wheel in a patch of diesel so far...

Had to run out at midnight and secure the C1, didn't fancy its chances staying upright on its own! (Yeah yeah, it's a shame it didn't fall over & burn) - moved the ER5 against a wall and bungee'd it to an anchor.
That's the only drama thus far, a few wobbles on those poxy tarmac joins in the road (they're ok when they run perpendicular to you, but when they run along with you they can cause issues, especially when you target-fixate on the poxy things...)
