Hi all, how much should a 1st service cost for a CBF125 (6 month old on the 30th) and only done 450 miles

Some manufactures give you the first service free so you may want to ask just in case.
1st service is usually an oil change, filter change, nut and bolt check. would reckon £130. best ask and find out for sure.

It depends on what's needed. If something is broken or abnormally worn out then it will need to be replaced, so it's impossible to say really.
Personally i'd just do an oil and filter change myself for about £20 Wink

£60 - is what the dealer I got mine from wanted.

It's an oil change (no filter on the CBF), valve clearances, clutch check/adjust, brakes check, checking/torquing up nuts/bolts and checking the steering head bearings. All quite straightforward stuff, providing nothing is wrong with any of it.

1st service is quiet important, thats the one not to skip. after that do them yourself if you don't care about a dealer service history.

^ This. I've done 3 services on my CBF now, up to 7'500 miles. It shouldn't void your warranty as long as you use OEM parts and do it correctly. Keep accurate records of what was done, staple in receipts for anything that had to be purchased etc. I'd trust a DIY serviced bike with a thorough history like that over a dealer-stamped log book any day.

£60 + parts + labour + VAT prob around £95, robing gits, its only done 430 miles

1st service is always early, it needs done. skip the first service and you may have problems trying to sell the bike when that time comes.

Isnt the first service on a CBF125 at 250 miles? (been a while since ive done one at work, bigger stuff seems to get given to me!)

£64 inc sounds pretty good for the work involved. Dont think clearances are checked on the first service.... Again, would have to check the book! Laughing
