Hi
My son has snapped his drive belt on his scooter i have got a new drive belt.I have removed the nut on the variator but behind the nut there is washer type thing behind it that has come off no problem but i cannot seem to get the splined one behind that off the only reason i am trying to get it off is to check the rollers are ok.

Can the variator be moved back and forth like the back one i know i can move them round but can i move it in and out by hand.

Rob

the front veriator outer plate,, well if you squeeze the rear pully in it will give the belt some slack, enuth for the outer plate to site on the shaft to do up,

use lockthred on the nut when you do it up for pise of mind as most of then (cvt) have a habit of unwinding of then the outer plate chews the threds up then its a new crank

am with you now, you wont to take the veriator off, if you still got the outer plate removed and the shaft that the veriator with the rollers sits on wont slide off then try using some DW40 to spray between the crank shaft and veriator shaft and it shud just pull off, the only nut that keeps the full veriator sistem on is that one nut on the crank end well thats how it is on the scooters iv worked on but when you finaly get it if, dont for get to grease the bit of the crank that it all sits on

this is not for the std veriator but it may come of use on reasemble time Smile
