Was coming home from work last night, sat behind a guy on a cruiser, couldnt help but notice his tyre tread was green Confused looked like a slick as well.
Looked pretty cool to be fair, what are they?

I think Tomahawk made some re-moulds with dyed silica a few years back, but they never really took off. You might still be able to get them though...

Unfortunately the colour seemed to be replacing the useful grippy stuff from what I remember, which may explain why they were never that popular!

No I think you're wrong there G actually. I read an article at the time that said that all tyres can be any colour provided that you dye the silica in the compound before manufacture. However, the perception was likely to be that they would be less grippy than a normal tyre which would harm sales. I suspect the fact that they were cheapo remoulds didn't help either!

There is nothing inherent about the colour and no grip, its just that the Tomahawk tyres had no grip anyway.

I was being facetious Smile - they did have a reputation for lacking in grip, as well as occasional delamination etc.
