Was coming home from work last night, sat behind a guy on a cruiser, couldnt help but notice his tyre tread was green looked like a slick as well.
Looked pretty cool to be fair, what are they? ____________________ aprilia 125 Af1 Futura >> Suzuki gsxr 600 srad >> J1 zx6r >> cbr 600rr >> Speed Triple |

No I think you're wrong there G actually. I read an article at the time that said that all tyres can be any colour provided that you dye the silica in the compound before manufacture. However, the perception was likely to be that they would be less grippy than a normal tyre which would harm sales. I suspect the fact that they were cheapo remoulds didn't help either!
There is nothing inherent about the colour and no grip, its just that the Tomahawk tyres had no grip anyway. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

I was being facetious - they did have a reputation for lacking in grip, as well as occasional delamination etc. |
