I heard that only children celebrate their birthdays in Japan. The only other ones celebrated are the 20th, 60th, 77th, 88th or 99th birthdays because they have special meanings... Shocked

Nevermind, we like to celebrate people getting older, so hope you have a good day. Mr. Green Thumbs Up

I'm interested to see if this is true.

Hate birthday. Like the Japanese (except the whaling, but that's slightly better than finning so meh). This could work Thumbs Up

Thanks everyone! I'm a lucky guy.
mr_fisty, Yes that is right!
Clanger you know about long life celebration!
(60:kanreki,77:kiju,88:beiju,99:hakuju)
Yes most of us don't celebrate our birthdays once become adult.
We present small one like chocolate. But couple and parents present expensive ones.
I think we aren't good at having parties.
Paddy Blake, I must be more careful not to make boring pointless posts with wrong grammer.
Bonny, most of us don't eat whales any more.

Today it snowed for the first time this year.(earlier than UK?)
Please watch out for snow and black ice. Safe riding!

Laughing Close, but no cigar...

Glad to see Taiwan has banned it now... Knew I should have gone there rather than Vietnam. Ah well, live and learn.

Tell me about it, who gives a f*ck how many times your body has gone round the sun.

I'd celebrate my mates birthdays with them, but have little desire to make a big deal out of my own.

See, the other thing with birthdays... I keep mine secret until post event and enjoy the 'I'd have got a pink elephant for you to ride through the streets of Camden mate, but I didn't know' bullshit... or, tell people well in advance so they can plan something/keep their day free if they genuinely give a shit.

Girl I'm seeing told me christmas eve that her birthday was boxing day... da'fuck

kawashima I hope you don't think I was saying your posts are boring or bad grammar.

I find them great.

That picture you posted looks more like what I expect Scotland to look like than somewhere in Japan.
