Just torrented Grey's Anatomy Series 7 if any of you know and I have 3 different file types of each. One is over a gig and the other two are 60-80kb. The larger is a MKV then the other two are SMI and SRT if that means anything.

I had to download DivX as other players I already had wouldn't let me watch it and it is only letting me see the first few seconds then it stops.

WHAT THE FUCK!

I am not very knowledgeable on this topic and have only torrented albums before so can someone shed some light so I can watch this series as it still isn't out in the UK even though it was promised in september... Confused

Thanks!

Maybe it's a duff torrent, if there are comments saying it's good, you could delete it and try again.
I find VLC player works with almost everything.

mkv is the video,

the other 2 are subtitles.

Grab VLC Media player, and if needed, Klite Mega Codec Pack

Enjoy

As Cansa said, SRTs are subtitles. It's tiny because it's only text and timecodes for the text.

If you have an avi etc file then a subtitle file (.sub, .srt) of the same name in the same folder provides the subtitles.

VLC has subtitle support built in without any messing around. Older players like Media Player Classic, mplayer2 etc required Gabest's vobsub to do the business.

TL DR;

Use VLC to play, the little files are just subtitles

If you are a female, download vlc player and enjoy. If you are male, punch yourself in the face repeatedly and be ashamed of yourself for wanting to watch a TV series for women.
