When I watch a film with the surround sound, blue rays and DVDs, the loud bits are mentally loud and then when they start talking its quiet. So you turn it up and then blow up your ears when there's a fight scene or something.

I thought there was an option on some films or surround sounds which can level out the volumes to some extent but I'm not sure really.

I'm using a ps3 to play the films. Output via optical and the surround system is a z5400 Logitech.

Does anyone else have this and if so what can I do about it? I don't mind the volume but everyone else does Thumbs Down [/img][/u]

On surrounds systems I've had, it's been called 'dynamic' range, but often hasn't made a massive difference from minimum to maximum.

Could always buy a rack mounted compressor/limiter? Might be a tad expensive mind. Laughing

Hey,
I had the same problem when i bought my Sony Surround sound which is connected to my HTPC.

What worked for me was turning up the front centre (Which seems to be the main speaker for voices). Now everything is nice and balanced.

Cheers,
Shaun R.
