well then guys, i have recently split up wit my missus so sold the car ect as its only me, i used to ride a honda vrf 400 and when i was 16 had plenty of 4st scooters but the thing is i have just bought a sym jet basix 49cc for £40 from my brother the thing i would like to know is how would i de-restrict the 2st, would it be the air box and variator like a 4t and also the frame is bent where he had fallen off it only by about 2 mm or so would this affect the riding ....im a car mechanic and mot tester so before any body asks no 1 or 2 mm would not affect a road car in driving but not sure on bikes!

cheers welsh craig

It's most likely restricted by a washer in the variator, and a washer in the exhaust. If you remove the washer in the exhaust you will have to up jet the carb.

I'd leave it as it is, derestricting a 50cc scooter won't gain you much extra speed and you risk burning out the engine taking it up to full speed on the flats.
