I was out with my instructor on Saturday and he was following behind me when I was on the NSR and he said that as soon as I pull away, the brake light comes on and stays on while I'm riding. I'm definetely not pressing the brakes by accident or anything. Anyone got any ideas as to why this is happening? I obviously can't see it when I'm moving and it works fine when I'm sitting still though. Thinking

Try putting a bit of WD40 on the rear brake light switch (connected via a spring to the rear brake lever). Sometimes they can stick. Strange that its fine when not moving though.

Try using just the front brake at a junction, then just the back brake to see which is causing the problems.

Then use lots of WD40 on whichever connector it is, as it's just sticking a bit.

when you sit still the rear suspension compresses which would maybe make the light go out try and adjust the brake light switch

Is the nsr switch in the leaver area? Does it come on when the leaver is pulled in allowing the switch to come out (if that makes sense - ie a break to make switch?).

Is there any play in the front break lever, that when your riding the level has moved back slightly allowing the switch to come out and turn the breaks on?

If so a bit of padding on the end of the break lever could sort it.

There again the break light may not be like this as I have never really looked at an NSR's break light switch.

If none of this makes sense please feel free to ignore it. Laughing
