The SP stubby carbon cans on my mates ZZR1400 can wake the dead, so I'd say yes it will be quite loud !

Let us know what you think Smile

Never heard of SP Engineering myself, but my GSX-R1000 has an Akrapovic titanium race system on it, it's a straight-pipe so it's just downpipes, endcan. The catalytic converter, old downpipes and endcans are in the garage in a box. Laughing!

Anyway, that thing is crazy loud even at idle, when you start picking up the revs it's silly, if I get to the limiter within a mile of my house my parents know I'm nearly home. Laughing!

What does it look like anyway? Picture would be nice.

Hope it sounds amazing mate, love the sound of IL4s. Put up a video. Thumbs Up!

Here's a pic of their cans here:

To my mind it seems to just be about noise for the sake of it. Quality looks ok, but at as good as Racefit.

@ Pauliington, the K2 doesn't have a cat anyway, and IIRC the full Akrapovic systems tend to noise test around 103dB at 6k rpm compared to a Racefit that manages 118 dB at the same rpm on a straight through system.

I've heard of but not used SP engineering before. Apparently build quality is good and cos its a small business they check every item and apparently any quibbles are dealt with well.

Funny that, my ZX6R had a full Akrapovic system and it didn't sound all that loud but my Monster on the other hand with the full Arrow Race System sounded mental!!!

Back on topic all I've heard is good stuff about SP Engineering and yeah it will be loud!

If you just want it for noise why not buy a Dan Moto can? Yes it'll fall to bits, but they cost peanuts.

On a good number of bikes replacing the stock end can with a straight through one can mess with the fueling, causing less than perfect running. The original R1 is known to suffer with this problem.

Best bet is to have a dyno run done, that should show up any problems.
