Well, the search function doesn't work so I couldn't really help making a thread.
My Bandit 400 has a set of "renthal" style bars, bolted to the top yoke (Standard streetfighter mod. You know what i'm on about).
Well, I had an issue with the starter button, where the wire had pulled off the switch due to the solder breaking.
So i've soldered it back up, but i'm a bit shit at soldering really and would like a more "permanent fix".
I had a brainwave last night, that I could just buy a new switchgear inc. wires from ebay (£25) and just plug in and play. Lovely jubbly.
But on my way back to uni today, I had a thought... The current switchgear has been "extended" or something (All of the wires going to both sides have a section of what would seem extra wire).
This is probably down to the fact that it has the aftermarket bars on.
So is it going to be a pointless buy, if I get another switchgear inc. wires from ebay, cause i'll have to extend it anyway? ____________________ The mistresses: 2000 Honda CBR600f, 2000 Honda VTR1000 |

If the bust switch has been extended then the replacement one will have to be too. In Japan, as higher bars are popular, you can buy kits that just plug into the switch connector block and then into the corresponding connector in the headlamp, never seen these in Europe though. It wouldn't be too difficult to make your own - there are online shops where you can buy the connector kits, just google "Japanese motorcycle wiring connectors" or similar. I don't think that you even have to solder them, they just crimp together. Some wire and shrinkwrap and Bob's your uncle.
