I am getting married (again) this year, it is the second wedding for my fiance too.

When I walk into the registry office I want people to smile, to do this I have in my head a particular song, but can't remember the title or even if I have the correct words - can you lot help me please?

The words in the song I am thinking of are ; here I go again, off down the road again ..... after this I can't remember sorry.

If you don't know the song can anyone suggest a song that refers to the fact we have both been there before and not Oops I did it again by Brittany Spears. I have the song Been Here Before by Styx, but would like more ideas please Smile

Could it be Joe Mcdonald

Here we go again. Lyrics are:

When dawn comes to touch my purple haze
And evening's drowsiness to carry me away
I know once again that there is nothing we can save,
So I'll pack up my things, I'll be on my way.

Yes, here I go again
Off down the road again
Thinking thoughts of days gone by.
Here I am again
Singing my songs again
Thinking and dreaming
Thoughts of you and I.

Swirls of giant colors swam madly through my head,
I looked around to find you, but I just found him instead.
It might have been a dream for all the things we said
But you promised me —
Darling you promised me —

Yes, and here I go again
Off down the road again
Thinking thoughts of things gone by.
Here I am again
Singing my songs again
Thinking and dreaming
Oh I feel like I could cry.

Father's gone to fight the war,
He left us here alone.
I shiver in the lonesome night
Beside the telephone
But time brings no word,
I guess he's not coming home,
It feels like the end,
It feels like the end, my friend.

Here we go again
Off down the road again
Thinking thoughts of things gone by.
Here I am again
Singing my songs again
Thinking and dreaming
Oh I feel like I could
Thinking and dreaming
Oh I feel like I could
Thinking and dreaming
Oh I feel like I could die.
Oh, yeah!

Wow 1st reply and that was the song I was thinking of Smile

twiggy also did it in 1976 which is the version I have heard. After reading the lyrics they probably aren't really suitable for our wedding, so any other ideas please?

I worked with a wedding band for years
strangest request we ever got was a first dance song, Meat Loaf 2 out of 3 ain't bad
when you consider the lyrics are

I want you
I need you
but there ain't no way I'm ever going to love you
don't be sad cause 2 out of 3 ain't bad

oldpink, if you worked with a wedding band, do you know of any suitable songs for my entrance into the registry office considering it is my 3rd marriage, Steve's 2nd and we want something that will make people smile without offending our 2 mothers?

We are really struggling to think of anything that I can make an entrance to without it being too soppy or predictable.

I believe that is what you meant, as that is the only way to sing it in your head.

problem is most suitable songs are soppy & predictable
believe me we had a standard wedding list that worked at almost every wedding

funny you should mention it
we did do one wedding where both parties we on there second wedding
the chose Brook Benton - The Second Time Around
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekuFuD0MCFM

Love is lovelier the second time around
Just as wonderful with both feet on the ground.
It's that second time you hear your love song sung.
Makes you think, perhaps, that love, like youth, is wasted on the young.
Love's more comfortable the second time you fall.

maybe a bit "old" for your tastes but I will ponder this and see what I can come up with

I was best man at my friend's wedding. He asked each of the guests in advance for a song suggestion so he could make up a compilation to accompany dinner. My suggestion was The End by The Doors. He played it as well ...

"Here we go" by Stakka Bo is an all time wedding classic.

Long time Sandra, what type of music are you wanting?

Rock?
Pop?
Jazz (more approprite than you think)?
R&B (unlikely)?

etc..

David Gray - you're the one I love

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44tVAJVmQCM

Gonna close my eyes
Girl and watch you go
Running through this life darling
Like a field of snow
As the tracer glides
In its graceful arc
Send a little prayer out to ya
'cross the falling dark

Tell the repo man
And the stars above
You're the one I love
