Afternoon all, im in search of boots that are actually waterproof? Ive currently got spada ones, not sure which model which arent the best in the rain to be honest and they're beginning to fall apart. Got £200 to spend and ideally they would have to be pretty good wearing as i commute everyday and in all weathers. Cheers Thumbs Up

As has been said many many many times before, go for gortex socks (they are available from Army Surplus stores from £8 a pair, and guaranteed to keep your feet warm and dry). Thus saving you the continuous search for waterproof boots. Thumbs Up

I'm personally a fan of TCX boots (although I don't actually own a pair... yet). For under £200 you can get a pretty sweet pair. My friend has had his TCX boots for about 3 / 4 years and they're still waterproof etc. Smile

Hein Gericke Rally Sport
100% waterproof and no cold tootsies (Under normal conditions.)

No matter what boot you will get water down the leg eventually. Unless you wear your troos over the boots or your bike's fairing covers a lot of your leg.

I bought the seal skin socks and possibly used them once or twice.
They are very very bulky so you cannot feel levers.

Soon as I got my Gericke boots I stuffed the seal skins in the drawer.

https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/boots-shoes/hein-gericke-rallye-iii-gore-texr-stiefel.html

These are more Motocross-ish than Trackday Trendies.

If your budget was lower i'd agree with Clanger and say get some Goretex socks. My feet kept dry, but the main drawback is you're left with a soggy boot that still needs drying and with my old boots it didn't take long for the cardboard insole to break-up.
Currently got the tcx infinity boots...very similar to Walloper's. Only had them for 2 months but can't see why they won't last for many years.

I've got TCX SS Sport 2 Waterproof, just perfect but now discontinued.

https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/29588

But you can get these as they still are well within your budget.

I've wanted boots like that (with all those nails in the toes) for ages.

The ability to create sparks whilst walking to the co-op cannot be underrated. However they can damage wooden floor boards and are an ignition source on the petrol station forecourt..and don't kick the dog. Razz

I have a pair of Oxtar Infinity (pre TCX). Feet have stayed dry.
I also have the Hein Gericke equivalent, only worn them once so cannot comment on them.

Not a fan of the quickdry method. Ok for textile, but even textile boots tend to have suede leather sections that crack with repeated quick dries. No bother if you're wealthy or wasteful.

And while you're there buy a pair of Goretex trousers to go over the top of your bike trousers and boots for £15.

£23 for a bone dry bottom half.

These, but without the camp cowboy bits on the toes Razz 4 hours on the motorway in the pissing rain and they were still toasty warm.

I swear by my Daytona Alkon's. Have been my most reliable bike related purchase ever. They have seen their fair share of deluges. I've also worn them in 35 degree heat and they were fine for that too.

£219 from ere;

I have to confess - I use 'em for my wellies after I have been fishing or on the allotment. Fortunately I do not HAVE to ride the bike when it is nasty rain or worse.

Another vote for the TCX Infinity.

However, they are massive! It's a bit of a struggle to get my textiles over the top of them. The soles are really thick as well and can make gear changing a bit of a pain. They also seem to be very warm, I've had really hot feet when the temperature rises to around 10 deg C or so so maybe not ideal year round boots.

On the plus side those silly metal toe tip things are optional, you don't have to look like a dick! (Sorry HT, had to get that in Laughing )
