Hi everyone,

I've joined your midst after lurking for the past year or so. I used to be a Daytona600/Tankslap member before I sold my beloved TT600 so hi to anyone from those forums who are also here. My primary reason for joining, apart from some good bike-related chat is that about a year ago I bought a non-running but generally good condition Kwacker GPZ500s (1994, twin disk model) for £310. My intention was to get it running (at the time I thought it was just gummed up carbs) and use it as a winter hack. I noticed that there seemed to be a fair few current and previous owners of these bikes here and thought I might ask a few questions.

As far as experience goes, I'm 23 and have been riding for 3 years. I didn't take the direct access route but did pass my practical after I'd got about 3000 miles under my belt on a pea-sized Yamaha SR125 (I'm 6'3'' and I looked ridiculous but I didn't care because I loved every second of it) which I bought and smuggled to and hid at my best mates house until I decided to ride it home after I passed my practical. I then bought a 2001 Triumph TT600 which served me well, taking me to and back from a year abroad to south Germany/Austria ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QJmMCG5hXQ ).

I've recently been given a lend of my friends Yamaha XTZ750 super tenere which I've taken off-road a couple of times, once on the Foss way ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXnFugk_A-E ) and once into the woods around my house...

Looking forward to meeting some of you in the future Smile ta da! Smile

You been to the gloucestershire bike nights on wednesday? They usually pick up come spring time. Whereabouts in GLOS are you? I'm in Cheltenham, but most weekends, I'm carving it in and around the cotswolds. There's quite a few of us in the area mind. Watch out for a poorly ridden 929 fireblade - I'm still in london mode when I commute!
