Hi all gf bought her first bike after doing her CBT.
A CBR 125.
I rode it home for her last night and it has an issue with the throttle?

Well this bike if you rev it slightly is will continue to rev sometimes up to the redline and it quite often will stay at high revs until either you turn the key off or it drops back down on its own accord if it does.

Also when riding when you change gear it will rev right up to the redline at random points.
Plus even if you throttle off it will still be under power and carry on riding forward as you were.

If anyone has any suggestions I would massively appreciate it.
Cheers

Sounds like your throttle cable is a little too tight. Is it fairly stiff to move too? Does it snap back to 'point zero' when you let go of it?

Follow the throttle cable back until you reach a small 'nut' on it, just loosen that off a bit and then check. Smile Nothing wrong with it I don't think.

My first thought is a manky throttle cable. Remove the cable and see what it's like to move through the outer casing.
Also check the casing for kinks or splits.
If not that then it may be a carb issue (If it's 04 - 56 plate). If it's the FI version then me no know.

Yeah, Haroman has a point... if the revs are running too high on idle, could be a mixture problem.

If its carbed it could be that theres an air leak. Spray some WD40 on the inlet and if it revs up then its leaking.
