On my way to a [failed] date in Canary Wharf - hate going there.

Entered a tunnel in London that leads to the 'Isle of Dogs'... Nicely lit, all very bright, and quite long for the types of tunnels I'm used to. Enjoyable, love the echo of my exahust in there.

Anyway, see some signs and try to determine which direction I want, as there are multiple exits in that tunnel. Foolishly got flashed by a speed camera doing something along 40mph in the 30mph zone Embarassed

Is this camera for real, or is it a 'dead dudd'? Am I to expect three points and a bitch of a fine? Crying or Very sad

I ask because a friend got flashed by 4 different cameras on the A406 at 2am doing 160mph in his sports car - a month later and still no red letter through the post.

Next point, further illustrating what a retard I was today:

Tie my pillion helmet on the back seat using bungee rope (short). Have been riding like that for some weeks, and no problem. However, on this occasion I go to a petrol pump after [failed] date to fill up. I notice that my helmet is hanging off the flippin exhaust pipe and has suffered some burns around the back of it. Suffice it to say I won't be tying it up that way again.

However, has the safety protection of this helmet been heavily compromised as a result - should I buy a replacement; or is it still ok?

A day for bad news, so please be helpfully blunt with me on both enquired issues.

Not 100% sure but it sounds like you were in the Limehouse link tunnel.
I got flashed in there last year, dual carriageway coming from the Highway and only 30mph, cameras hang from tunnel roof so hard to spot.
Anyway I never got anything through, although I read on the net that the cameras in that tunnel are some of the best paying around.
Don't quote me on it but I heard you need to be flashed twice in there to get caught, so if you only got one flash you might be lucky, hope you are.

Funnily enough I am back up working in town as of Wednesday.
Not going to use the tunnel anymore though, commercial road for me, at least I can see the cameras there.

I did get flashed there last year but i was filtering between cars so maybe they dident get my plate.
