After they have been plugged I have both front and back tyres plugged at the moment and seem to be fine but wondered if there was a length of time or warning to go with them.

Just asking as I have never had plugged tyres before.

Many thanks

I'd change the front now. You really don't want that giving up on you.

As for the back, i've done 7000 miles on a plugged tyre before now

Should be a perment fix if they were properly pluged, I still run tyres till there bald even with the stringy stype plugs which are for a temp repair, Not lost one yet.

+1 with tatters, if the repair was done properly the tyre should last just as long as the wear on a "normal" tyre....
in my case, I really should have stopped riding on my previous rear tyre a good 3 to 4 weeks before this... Rolling Eyes

[edit] And due to some continued bad luck, I needed to get my current rear tyre plugged within 3 weeks of fitting it, and I'm still planning to ride as normal for the full life of the tyre Thumbs Up

I did two trackdays, qualifying and three races on a plugged tyre.

Had my racetec plugged, my dunlop qualifier plugged and my current 2ct plugged.

Have done 150+ on all of them with plugs, no issue at all.

I say that, I'm more scared of valves than plugs now Laughing

When he said plugged i assumed it was just those temp fix plugs i carry for getting going again.

If it's a proper mushroom plug fitted from inside i'd ride it to the canvas

Is that a year in which you do 20 miles or a year in which you do 20,000?

NEVER get a motorcycle tyre plugged*. I have heard of motorcyclists being fatally killed to death as a result of front tyre blow outs as a result of a plug.

*Unless you wear a high visiblity jacket when riding
