Those Scientific Services Vans

Came up behind one today whilst riding, and got me wondering.

If you were riding like a nobber, and bombed past one at an obscene speed, can they or would they radio in and give your plate/location to other cars to get you pulled then use their witness statement against you?

I'd be stunned if they could do traffic stops, but I don't know, or would they simply not care? Or is it down to if the driver can be arsed.

I believe some may do but I can't imagine a civi calling in backup because a bike may or may not have been speeding on the local ring road.

I used to work for a recovery garage that had Police contracts with both Notts & Derby's.

Derby's SOCO's were ALL drop dead gorgeous, never ever met a fugly one, Nott's SOCO's tended to be rather nice personalities but a little on the old side.

For the work they do, collecting fingerprints & snot samples etc, I don't think that they're employed for their brains. I can picture some beer gutted failed Inspector somewhere, bragging to his 'mates' down at the lodge, that they cost the same as ugly ones . . . .
