Hi All,

Rode past what seemed to be the immediate aftermath of a motorbike crash... Paramedics had arrived but no police/ambulance at that time. I first saw a red coloured (not bloody) trainer along the central reservation; then a broken top-box on the ground. Then came the shards of glass and smashed fairings.

Then came a mangled motorcycle, smashed up beyond recognition, couldn't make out the model. Further along was a body under a blanket with paramedics talking to him/her. What sent chills up me was the leg that was sticking out... seemed to be missing a foot, with some bits dangling out of it and a pool of blood under it on the ground.

Suffice it to say I was riding like Miss Daisy on the dual carriageway until I reached the A1M...

Anyone know who this was, and whether they are alright? Such a horrible and sad thing to happen.

Much love to all riders

I usually ride there but have no bike at the moment. Was it the junction near the station?

Sounds like another reason to wear boots whether on a scooter or bike

I bet that trainer weighed more than you'd think then Sick

Poor sod, but as said above it shows that proper attire is required at all times!

Boots crushed my feet last time I crashed in them, i'll only wear them on track now Laughing

I crashed in trainers Sunday and they came off well despite being dragged down the road Laughing But no, I dont value my feet Wink

No, it was more or less before/after the junction for Pennine Drive/The Vale. Sorry, cant accurately recall as I was a lil traumatised as I rode past.
