Hi new to bikes have a noise that is noticeable on tickover but as soon as i pull in the clutch the rattle type noise disappears. After pulling away the noise again disappears but re-appears when i shut off the throttle or when stopped at lights until i pull in the clutch help required before throwing money at the bike |

It sounds like the clutch basket. Its either supposed to be like this, or you have a worn clutch basket.
Knowing the quality of Yamaha FZR clutches, its more than likely a worn basket.
Take the clutch apart and have a look at the "teeth" on the basket. If they have little grooves forming in them, you'll need to replace it. If its okay, then its nothing to worry about. My SV650 had a very noticeable clutch rattle and it was brand new!
Wise man say "If you have to strain to hear a noise that you are worried about in engine, then you are either imagining it, or its a normal noise."
Seriously, I wouldn't worry unless it drowns out the engine noise!! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

Hi
Some rattle from the clutch basket is fairly normal.
When the release bearing went in my Divvy the gearchange became really stiff. Also putting the bike on the centre stand and running the engine in gear all was normal. But when you pulled the clutch lever the rear wheel stopped almost instantly.
Not sure about the FZR400 but it is probably similar to other Yamaha clutches which means it is a doddle to work on.
All the best
