What whitedevil said lol

Stay relaxed. The more tense you are the harder it is to control the bike.

Yup, wear as many layers as you can fit on. What bike did you go for?

If you have some cones/markers etc, take em to the corner of a quiet car park and practice slalom and figure of eight until you can do it v close and v slow, good to get the confidence up and it's never too soon to start practice for mod1...

Take it easy and don't feel bullied by the odd car-wanker targeting the L platers, just let them do what they want and own your part of the road. At the start I had to sometimes talk myself through junctions/manouvres and even just repeating things like 'look where you WANT to go', 'keep your head up', 'throttle off, front brake, rear brake' or 'OSM/PSL' etc it sounds a bit spaz but I still do occasionally (mostly on M/Way or NSL now when overtaking and filtering).
Maybe bring a back pack with some snacks (and fags) and take breaks often, just to let you relax and process what you've done/are doing. And most importantly enjoy the shit out of it Smile Its fucking great and pretty addictive.

On the note of layers and clothing, make sure you have a good pair of gloves to try and keep your finger tips warm.

Be careful of course, and check the road condition. Don't go revving away like mad and look out for lorries that might be in the industrial estate and not see you as easy.

Most of all though, enjoy yourself, and have fun!

If you going on an industrial estate look out for diesel!!!
Nothing sends you off quite like a nice patch of gravel soaked in diesel.
I would advise to stay well away from industrial estates or truck stops and the like.
Find yourself a nice quiet housing estate to potter around until you get your confidence up enough to tackle some main road traffic.
