............ I had to choose Friday the 13th to fall off my bike!

It was a stupid noobie error really.... I pulled into the car park at work and stepped off the bike to wheel it into the parking space but forgot to kill the engine. As I stepped off I stumbled slightly and that was enough to twist the throttle on my still-running bike, which being a CVT equipped scooter pulled an impressive wheelie and set off like a maddened bull across the concrete park, dragging me along in its wake. Both bike and I stopped a few meters later thanks to a fairly solid wall! Only damage to me is a bit of soreness to my ribs and a dented ego whilst the bike escaped with only a broken mudguard!
In all, a very lucky escape!

Bet you won't forget to kill the engine next time!

At least you're not too badly injured and the bike is repairable. Smile

I saw someone do something similar a couple of days ago, he bent down to adjust his boot or something with his left hand, twisted the throttle and the scooter, wheelied almost 90 degrees upwards.

I think It's a right of passage for scooter newbies.

My first bike accident was on Friday 13th (03 or 04).

Was sat in a cafe with a friend mocking how nothing ever happens on Fri 13th, leave cafe (moderate rain) went in too hot when approaching some red lights, controlled braking right until I hit the damned white lines for cyclists and flipped it.

Landed in the middle of a cross roads but thankfully with only a bruised knee from where my bike landed on it. Traffic was light thankfully or could of been a lot worse.

I have NEVER mocked the date since, I also rechecked my braking distances in the Highway code Laughing
