RK DE-RESTRICTION

ANYONE OUT THERE DE-RESTRICTED AN RK? I HAD A LOOK IN THE EXHAUST THE OTHER NIGHT , ICAN SEE THE SMALLER DIAMETER PIPE BUT IT SEEMS TO BE PART OF A BIG WASHER ALMOST THE SIZE OF THE MANIFOLD.I'VE GOT A NEW GASKET FOR IT F*****G TWELVE QUID? BUT DONT WANT TO PUT IT ON UNTIL ITS DE-RESTRICTED AS ITS A ONCE ONLY JOBBIE.

The big washer needs grinding out with a rotary file, until it meets the edges of the pipe, when it can be pulled out. But there is also a restriced entry hole into the rear silencer can, that needs drilling out to the size of the stinger pipe. De restriced i think a different main jet is needed, and its 20-21hp / 85-90mph. Its so much hassle tho to de restrict std exhaust your better off buying a better looking and sounding pipe like a Micron, Nikon, or Giannelli.

If you have an arrow exaust sytem does it also have a exaust resticter ?

I think stevo is talking about the ns125 whereas the rk is a differant bike. Look at dylans bike on www.nsr125.com , this is an rk.

If the bike is originally an Italian market model then it is not restricted

stevo, what size deos the main jet go to once derestricted.

If i take it to a dyno shop will they supply the jets needed.

Soz mate i got it wrong i was talkin about the NS125 and not the NSR125RK. As for jetting you should be able to find out from a dealer if different jets are req for a full power motor. A good info source for jetting and other stats including restriction data is Motorcycle service and set up data by John Robinson. You are on your own if you decide to tune the bike or change the filter etc, but it would be wise to speak to an expert like Stan Stephens as he will at least give you an idea of what changes are needed. As for supplying jets well a 2 stroke specialist like SS probably has all the jets needed, but if you just wanna use your local dyno centre and pay per hour, then id get a selection of jets from the dealer, and a few new sparkplugs, so that you can dyno the bike and make any changes as required.
