They have a reputation of good in the dry, shite in the wet, I have no personal experience with them though.

However you can get Dunlop qualifiers for that price :
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Dunlop-Qualifier-Front-120-60-ZR17-Rear-160-60-ZR17-Motorcycle-Tyre-Pair-/300614858106?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item45fe0ab57a#ht_1831wt_1395

Or an extra £30 for pilot powers or diablo stradas

What sort of riding do you do? You would probably be fine with something more touring orientated, will last a lot longer.

(I only had 3k out of a pilot power rear).

I use these

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330510774546?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

They're lasting well and perform just like any tyre I've used, wet or dry. But as pointed out Maxxis aren't the bargain they used to be, but still a lot cheaper than the £200 odd quid tyres would cost me from other manufacturers.

Had a Maxxis road-intermediate pattern supermoto front.
Should be very grippy, work well in adverse conditions and warm up quickly.
The second time I crashed braking gently on shell grip (fairly steep downhill, to be fair), I decided the first time was the tyre not my cack handedness in that situation.

If they can't manage that sort of tyre, I wouldn't trust one that's designed to be a lot less grippy!

The first crash I entirely blamed on my own stupidity, even though in the same situation I'd not crashed when riding on a thinner semi-trail tyre on a heavier bike with not as good suspension.

I put a wheelie down and braked coming up to a traffic restriction as there was a car coming around the corner - I'd done the same thing several times before on other tyres and bikes, including in front of a police car who was happy to let me carry on my way, presumably because I showed I was in full control.

I accepted that this was my own fault initially.

It was only when the tyre gave way under very gentle braking on shell grip, though a steepish downhill bit that I did decided it was the tyre - there was a situation which any decent tyre should be absolutely fine. And to be fair, the same should be said about the previous situation too.
