Was riding along a road earlier when, in the distance, a car was parked up on the same side of the road with is hazards on. As i got closer i did all the usual checks and went to overtake. It was only till then did the car suddenly swerve right out into the middle of the road to then reverse into a driveway on the left. Slammed my brakes on and stopped JUST short of the drivers window. She proceeded to spout total bollocks, shout swear and say how it's my fault and that i should have been paying attention... Rolling Eyes Should have given the bitch a dry slap there and then...Surely i'm right in saying that she should have checked around her then indicated right to pull out? Just wound me up the fact that she placed all the blame onto me, bitch Rolling Eyes

Her fault, she should have indicated and checked before moving.

It wasn't your fault at all from what I can make out. If a vehicle was pulled up with hazards on I would assume it had broken down, another example of bad use of hazard lights. Driver should of checked mirrors, given way to overtaking and oncoming traffic then clearly indicate her intentions.

I appreciate this is more or less a rant. Glad your okay and there was no crash.

Legally she is to blame and your in the clear, however, the dozy bint was applying the 'hazard lights = do anything you want' rule. Who is to blame is irrelevant if your spazzed out in hospital. Hats off for not slapping the idiot, but I suspect she was just ranting BECAUSE she was at fault, something Ive noticed lots of people do to deflect blame.

Anyway, safe riding etc....

Indeed.

Morons tend to blame others for their failings. Find a constructive way to deal with it. I like "Jesus will forgive you". Wink

Bad thing to assume.
You can assume it will be 'causing a hazard', but not much more than that.

Use your horn when you see a car with reverse lights on.
This is what highway code says and surprisingly it works.
I just beep for hazard lights as well. Works every time.

The fact she had her hazard lights is pretty much an admission that she knows she was causing a hazard.
