I am going to be re-painting my 95 suzuki gs500. If anyone is familiar with that year the bike is purple, not really the look i want. I was hoping anyone that has painted their bike before might give me some insite as to how to go about it. I have an air compressor and paint gun, and a friend that is very skilled with an airbrush so that part I think I have covered. What I am looking for help on is the prep work. I am not painting the frame, just some touch up work. Any suggestions on how to sand the bike? What kind of paper, wet/dry, or forget that and just sand blast it (its all plastic farings minus the tank) Also if you have done it how many coats of primer and top paint ect did you do, and how long in between coats? Thanks for you help.

I have sprayed my bike you need to rub down I use 800 wet and dry two coats of primer.

I then put on top coat about 5/6 coats about half hour between the two then you should leave them to dry for about 2 weeks so they can harden and they have to be kept at a constant temperature.

Also do you know what paint is on their already as you may have to isolate it.
