Wheeled the bike backwards out the garage and got it about a foot before it sounded like I'd run it over a piece of plastic. Looked down at the front wheel and it was only then I realised the disklock was still on Embarassed Embarassed

It's snapped a piece of the mudguard clean off. Does anyone know of anywhere that sells replacements for a K4 GSXR 600. I can only find the skidmarx ones from sportbikeshop. These will do fine but I can't find any pictures of the exact model and don't want to end up with some "Max Power" looking thing.

As for the mudguard, eBay or Suzuki.

Got the reminder cable, never use it because I didn't think I was dumb enough to need to........I was wrong.

Scoured ebay, no joy

Only genuine Suzuki part I can find is in America and $200, I thought I'd be able to find it cheaper here.

Instead of a disklock reminder I have a suggestion:

Arrow Find some hose or rubber that slides over the key for the lock.

Arrow When you use the lock you will need to use the key to open it, so take the rubber off and place it on your bike ignition key.

Arrow When you come back to the bike you will need to remove the rubber from the ignition key - thus reminding you of the disk lock.

It works and all for the cost of a teeny piece of scrap rubber pipe Thumbs Up

i can top that....

On my old Dt125, Wrapped a 1m chain around my front wheel/right fork, then went out for day.

Came back, walked to bike from behind and opp side, jumped on, started her up and rode her away...In front of about 15people including my neighbours and father in law. Embarassed

Needless to say i no longer wrap chains around fork legs, and also check the damn bike before i move it! Would probably cry if i did it to my SV!

Been there got the t-shirt.

Snapped my speedo drive cable on my ER5 doing it.

Did it recently and the disklock actually cracked in 2 with no damage to the bike.

Easily done.

I actually stopped a bloke in the street once who was about to do it, he had a passenger on the bike as well. I think he first thought what's the idiot going on about, as I didn't look like a biker at the time. (cue me shopping with the wife and kids).
