I need to buy a new front tyre for my Yamaha Yzf R125 and I was just wondering what is the difference between the ContiTwist SM Sport and the ContiTwist SM, and which one would be better for mostly wet conditions?

Neither of those are fantastic. Had a Conti Twist SM on my GS500 rear, was alright but no good in the wet.

Standard BT45 would be ideal in the wet.

You do realise there no good on a bike like that? And dont mix them with a shallow radius radial, prehaps why it didnt work on the GS.

There called SM as there really deep profile curved tyres ideal for SuperMotards

I can do same speeds a an SM on a GS500 Rolling Eyes I always have mismatched tyres unless it feels weird, then I try a different one.

130 70 17 tyre fits the rim of a GS500, that is all I give a shit about...

a 190 55 is currently on my bike, should be a 190 50, but also use a 180 55... if it fits, its no real trouble.

Don't mean to be starting arguments, but they are shit in the wet.

I use them on my GPZ500s, on my fourth one now. They are quite cheap, but fairly soft compound and wear quickly if you ride agressively. I had no problems in bad weather. They do have a sharp profile, which is great for cornering, but can make the bike feel nervous and tip into corners. Once you get used to it they are fine though.

The sport version is even softer compound, so it would wear out even quicker.

I'm also looking at Cougar and Vee Rubber tyres as possible replacements. Same sort of price, but a more flatter profile and harder rubber compound.

i have a mate with a r125 and he swears by sava m racers, he said they stick like glue in the dry and are pretty good in the wet.
