I suppose this is about how shallow one is, or is seen to be and if it's normal.

Me, I'm the kinda guy that will take an average girl I meet and decide whether i want to 'do' her based on both looks and personality.

I can't go with a girl that's stunning but a real b1tch; I've tried.

Also, I can't go with a girl that's not-so-good looking but is a brilliant lass in character. (visual turn ons are pre-programmed into male attractions)

Sluts, I also don't like the idea of a girl that's been around a bit, it just doesn't doesn't anything for me, except maybe make me cringe a little.

I know a lot of my mates sleep with anything that moves, and they all say I've got too higher standards. It didn't help that for a while I was stuck on 1 particular lass but last week I was with a mate at a student bar and jesus, the totty there.... wow.

Il be going back very soon but my question is, am i normal? as in, to have standards?.. i dont mind not being intimate for a short while until i meet a lass that's worth a punt but the mates take the piss because i'm fussy. I'd think it was a good thing?

Take an ex, we had a row and parted ways and she was teasing in a club, this other pretty chick asks me to go back with her and I said I can't because i like someone else, when she found out she went off the fucking handle! surely most girls would appreciate a fella not screwing around given a chance? I wish I'd done it now tbh because of the treatment I got. Her ex was cheating and she was more forgiving a lot sooner then she was with me.

So, are boys with standards freaks? girls are slappers if they get about a bit, boys are heroes. where do i fit in?

Tried most.

At first a proper innocent one, very pretty and intellectual.

Then slept around a bit, one proper dirty one.

Decided to give up for a bit, concentrate on Uni. Just as I did, the missus turns up via Fate. Now I was usually no fate believing man but a load of sh!t went down that couldn't ignore so now I'm skeptical. But that's a story for another time.

I think now I have higher standards. But then I've always been very cynical is most aspects of my personality.

Standards depend on what you want them for.

I'm not too picky for a shag.

I'm more picky for a girlfriend.

I'm way too picky for marriage and stuff.

I knocked back two girls who, in hindsight were pretty good for me for marriage etc

Obviously you dont need to be thinking about marriage and kids.

I'd say be a bit open minded when it comes to girls rather than having strict standards, as sometimes girls that seem a bit shit, have good qualities that you only get to know when you know them a bit.

For a girlfriend it's a totally different manner, they have to have atleast some degree of good looks, but personality is more important.

For pulling girls in bars/clubs/pubs, it depends on how sober/drunk or how soon or long ago I last got laid.

I think Bonny may have been out with me the other year when a truly hideous inbred came over and asked me to dance or for my number or some such, and I pretty bluntly told her where to go. A few hours later being a drunken mess and realising I wasn't going to get any, I went and found her

Oh well, atleast I got some action, better than going home bymyself and falling asleep dribbling into a laptop screen!

Ok, well, when I was younger, I would never turn down sex. Basically. Unless they seemed like they would drive me nuts.

^^ I agree with Bonny, but not nessesarily for the same reason, I think it's more a confidence and attitude thing. If you havnt got laid in 2 months, you're more likely to get a bit keen on the first sniff of a bit of vag. Also, if you have got it recently, you are more likely to be happy to just party rather than constantly trying to pull, which again, especially while drunk is a much better attitude to have!

Last night I was with a mate in town, and this girl he works with was out; as was her ~cousin/sister-in-law/aunty...

Anyhew I got to chatting to this elder figure, I'd pegged her for ~23 and when she called me baby face I got her to guess, she said 18(old enough to be in the club), I said 23 and i dont know if she was impressed or wary; she didn't change in attitude but was more subtle, in her moves and, touches and gestures. She was 28.

Now here's the problem, and has happened a few times in the last months; I prefer the other girl. In this case the younger one my mate works with was my age and while not as slim (a tad curvier) but i wasn't attracted to her physically. Funny, and we got on great but in that scenario and ashamedly after 4 hours of shots and vodkas i just didn't get heated enough to consider a punt.

Last time was similar, but the blonde was 38 and i 'lost her number'. She was fit, pretty and if she kept her mouth shut I'd liked to have poked her into next week but when she opened that mouth... soounded like trash and her attitude was just a turn off.

I'm glad i'm not alone, really, but im starting to think that i'm still young and sometimes it's far more beneficial to just strike one for the team.

Wouldn't it be a regret turning away my moderate chances now and being seriously short in 30 years time?

Dont get me wrong, i'm not avoiding shagging girls when the right type is about, my first public/blatant offer was when I was 17 by Sarah, she was 24 then and not my cup of tea but Zoe... she was almost right. that was short lived but educational.

I recall being 18 in the clubs and wanting to fuck anything that looked at me, since 19/20 i'm really picky.

Might not help that the girl i spoke of in the 'flowers' thread still tries to keep in contact, she seem's to value me immensly as a best mate but I only want to be with her romantically. well, no, i want to give her one and see if my feelings change.

Until then it's more selective searches. I would like a regular GF but then i see what my mate puts up with and i'm so fucking glad I can walk away! being single is far less hassle but without benefits. Not sure where I wanna be. It also depends what is in your environment. In Vietnam there was a very hot yank, seemed sharp, I even told everyone 'I have a girlfriend now'... that drifted apart within a month because she really had nothing going on in between her ears. I didn't want to buy a girlfriend or de-virgin a girl and ruin her life (Viet men won't touch anything but virgins... weak cunts)... but made friends with a married woman. Was just friends for 2 months, and that slowly drifted into being closer. Point in, in that context, she was my perfect woman, and made all the immature ex-pats there seem really unpalatable. I was missing her loads... she came to visit last weekend after me having met a smart and stunning South African girl (and damn nigh humped her before she reminded me the Viet was coming)... and sadly the Viet didn't compare well

But, because I really like the South African, and I know I'm leaving, I'm trying to avoid anything happening.

It's all about the context. Which is what worries me about relationships if I'm honest. Had a complete 'frame shift' when changing context a few times.
