Afternoon all!

Hope you're all enjoying your Friday! It's almost the weekend, after all!

I'm looking ahead a little, thinking about my test and all as well as having had the possibility of the offer of a bike. I've already been thinking about selling on my YBR but as my first sell (I part-exchanged my scooter) I'm a bit green behind the ears.

I'd most likely be looking to sell it privately but I'd like some advice from some people who've had experience in selling their motors.

So! First question is, is when would be the best time to consider selling it on? I realise that we're in the 'winter slump' as it were, so I wasn't sure when would be best to consider putting it up in order to get the most from it.

Second question! What would be a fair expectation of value to get for it? I paid £2349 in April and it's a 2010 model with an 11 plate. It has just over 2000 miles on the clock. It would also come with a topbox and has a Datatool alarm fitted. There is some very minor scuffing on the side of the exhaust from where it went over and a little chip to the chrome on the headlight (though that would be touched up) so there is a little sign of some wear and tear, but other than that, it's in very good condition.

All thoughts and insight would be much appreciated for a first time seller.

*cupcakes*

Get on eBay/Autotrader/Gumtree and see how much other YBRs are selling for with similar mileage etc, should give you a ball park.

For your price comparison I have these Yamaha YBR125 listed on bike-shack;

I'd wait until Spring if you are in no hurry, but that's just my opinion!

Start putting it on Gumtree now. The "slump" means that there are fewer decent bikes out there for sale, so anyone actually looking has less choice and might even part with more than they would in the Spring.

It doesn't cost you anything except dealing with tyre kickers and fantasists.
