Basically I was approaching a roundabout and ended up being at the side of the lane (in the gutter right hand lane) this meant I lost my position on the road something I need to improve I know.

However whilst I waited for a bus to come around the roundabout a people carrier came down the side of me straight across the roundabout in front of the bus bus clipped the car. (no real damage the people carrier just drove off angry and the bus just shook his head)

Now I know I lost my position which I shouldn't do but was it my fault Question

Yes, you were 100% at fault, now tell your insurance company immediately.

Laughing I know this may be obviously not my fault but I do feel at fault for the road position mistake.

If they failed to notice the bus, or stop at the roundabout, its their fault.

Your bike obviously blocked their view of the bus.

People carrier = bitches be crazy. Treat them with the same caution as Micras, Range Rovers, and White Van Man,.

looking at the diagram its clearly your fault that the people carrier barged its way on to the round about infront of a bus.

MTFU and own the road, don't get bossed about.

Not your fault, but you do pay your tax so use your road.

Wasn't getting bossed about I was watching the other side of the roundabout to bide my time, however look and you will go kicked in hence why I went to the side of the lane.

Got to admit although its not good only stalled once .. because that incident shook me up so I wasn't focusing and it was the only time I lost position.

The only thing you did wrong was to lose control of the bike, but you came to a stop and waited, which was the correct thing to do.

Vehicles may have to stop for several reasons such as mechanical fault or obstructions and debris in the road but the driver of the people carrier (and the bus driver) obviously is under the impression that vehicles - or at least motorcycles- never ever have to stop for any reason whatsoever.

The dashed white line across the end of the lane means "give way".

The driver of the people carrier failed to do so.

It would also appear that he carried out a left hand overtake in an erratic, ill considered and dangerous manner.

Would it be the fault of a particularly large chested lady pedestrian for distracting male (& lesbenums) from their driving leading to crash Question

I think the slowly inflating Kia in the left hand lane is to blame

Your bike should be crushed with you strapped to the handlebars in all your bike gear and stuff out the garage too.

The yellow line is to blame, it is obviously controlling the people carrier against the driver's will.

I have a theory about people carriers...I wondered why I saw so many of them speeding, cutting cars up and generally appearing to be driven by someone who had to give up amateur karting due to the onset of parkinsons.

It goes something like this...the ones I've noticed are frequently driven by chaps. Now, they obviously have a new family, may be married and had to get rid of their Alfa or TT and they are very angry and embarrassed at having to drive a piece of shit people carrier...so, they drive it like a tw@t in order to fend off the shame and perceived dent in their 'masculinity'.

That'll be £400 please.

if you are an inexperienced rider then take up a position such as where you would be if you were sat in the drivers seat of a vehicle.ie you would never be in the gutter in any situation..see where the driver of the vehicle in front is positioned in relation to the road...but stay back and have a plan B....as you become more experienced you will command your position better ,,,as at times you may need to be to the nearside away from that driver to get an early view but these things usually come with a larger bike...STUDY and learn and put into practice roadcraft!EARLY VIEW.
