I have a Gilera DNA 50 2003 and it had been running fine from September last year until I replaced the exhaust due to a hole in the old one.

So I replaced the exhaust with a new aftermarket standard exhaust for my model but now the revs won't go above 8000, it take ages to reach the top end of 40-45 and as soon as I hit an incline of any sort it just loses power. The bike won't idle either, cuts out instantly.

I've done a little research and from what I can see its due to the engine running rich and I've narrowed the cause down to the jets in the carb. It has standard jets on the bike now, any suggestions on what size of jets for the new aftermarket exhaust?

Heres a few pictures too.

A DNA is a moped, so surely you mean the top speed is exactly 31mph? Confused

What main jet size do you suggest?

the standard size on these is 56, i was thinking trial and error sort of thing, you know, buy a 58 and 60 and a 54, see what happens from there.

go up one main jet size then check the plug colour.

if its not too white then you're ok.

a light brown colour is what you want.

also check your air filter is clean.

Are you sure it's the carbs, what colour is the plug ?. If it's a standard exhaust and yours is de-restricted it could cause and issue.
