Maybe buying one of these. Are they any good? What should I be watching out for?
Thanks.

The Rift Zone has been a current model for well over a decade, depends what age and model it is and how much it is as well as spec.

Do you have any more info? Marin make good solid bikes though so unless you're planning on some extreme downhilling (Rift Zone is an XC bike) then it should be ok.

How much do you want to spend. My mate owns a large bike store and can get mtrax, ghost, focus bikes for great prices.
If that's any help.

Suspect thats no help at all ... as the bikes mentioned are more ATB than MTB.
The fact that MikeJ is looking at a Marin Rift means he is after something a bit more 'purposeful'

Mike: Post up rough specs (mechs / chainset etc) and the age and price.

That rift zone looks nice. The I-drive will be more problematic regarding servicing / bearings. I'd have it for £400.

Ghost stock a range of all styles downhill, mtb,xc I was looks at them and it's good the way the do a bike for every price range.

The Marin does sound good for that price. How much use has it had?
